Kyle Lee

Born in White Plains, New York, Kyle Lee resides in the Park Slope area of Brooklyn. His passion for creating art began at a young age, experimenting with various mediums such as painting, drawing, photography, and occasional voice acting. Today, he specializes in creating ceramic vessels, vases, cups, and tableware, which serve as canvases for his distinct hand painting and surface treatments.

Kyle Lee’s practice has included teaching over the years at Educational Alliance Art School in Manhattan and currently at GasworksNYC in Brooklyn. Kyle has studied ceramics in multiple studios throughout Manhattan and Brooklyn, NY, and has exhibited in solo and group gallery exhibitions in New York City and abroad. His work can also be found in private collections throughout the United States as well as in London, France, and China.

Over his 20 years as a ceramicist, Kyle has developed his unique style of ceramic art, incorporating traditional shapes with a colorful and abstract sense of design and glaze application utilizing wax and vinyl resist color-blocking techniques. Aside from his artistic pursuits, Kyle is passionate about using his platform to give back to the community. He has partnered with various organizations to use his art to raise awareness and funds for important social issues.

Kyle is a founding member of BKLYN CLAY, a contributor to the Public Ceramics Non-Profit, and is newly seated on the Board of Directors for Studio Potter. He is currently partnered and creating work for West Elm and other retail and museum design shops.
