POSITION
A fixed-term renewable position at the rank of lecturer is available in the Department of Art & Design at the Barron County and Eau Claire campuses of the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. The institution seeks a candidate with multidisciplinary expertise who is committed to undergraduate teaching excellence. This appointment carries an initial two-year appointment beginning with the 2022/2023 academic year on August 22, 2022, and is renewable by your supervisor, contingent on performance.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Master of Fine Arts in a related studio art field by August 22, 2022 is required. ABD applicants will be considered but must complete the terminal degree by March 20, 2023. Candidates must have the ability to teach Drawing and Composition Foundations, Two-Dimensional Foundations, Three-Dimensional Foundations, and Ceramics. The successful candidate’s expertise with foundations instruction will include evidence of passion for working with undergraduates at the beginning of their studio art and design programs. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to teach all aspects of introductory and intermediate ceramics with a combination of historical and contemporary perspectives. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to advise students with ceramics in the B.F.A. program and maintain the ceramics studio and equipment.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Two years of undergraduate teaching in a studio art program.

DUTIES
Teach four courses per semester in-person based on program needs; generally, Drawing and Composition Foundations and Two-Dimensional Foundations will be offered at the Barron County campus and Three-Dimensional Foundations and Ceramics will be offered at the Eau Claire campus; provide academic advising to Ceramics B.F.A students; and maintain and supervise all aspects of the ceramics studio.

DEPARTMENTS
The Barron County campus houses a multidisciplinary academic department of twenty-seven faculty and instructional staff. The successful candidate will have an official administrative home at the Barron County campus with concurrent membership in the Eau Claire campus Department of Art & Design.

The Department of Art & Design at the Eau Claire campus consists of seventeen full and part-time faculty and staff and has approximately 220 students pursuing a major in one of the following programs: Bachelor of Fine Arts; BA/BS in Studio Art and Graphic Communications; Liberal Arts BA/BS in Studio Art. The department also offers Studio Art and Art History minors and contributes to the Multimedia Communication minor.

The Barron campus, located in Rice Lake, lies in the heart of beautiful Northwest Wisconsin. Rice Lake has a population of just under 10,000 and represents the commercial center for Barron County. Rice Lake and the surrounding countryside feature scenic rivers, lakes, parks, and bike trails.

The Eau Claire campus, situated on the Chippewa River near the confluence of the Eau Claire River, is at the center of a metropolitan area of approximately 100,000 people located 90 miles east of Minneapolis/St. Paul. The area features beautiful parks and trails, strong public schools, a vibrant arts scene and local food culture, and abundant recreational opportunities.
