Lisa Creskey: Taiwan Ceramics Residency, 2019

As an island, Taiwan is an unique ecosystem that is ideal as a stop-over for migratory birds, along with its own unique resident bird populations. Imagery of birds is part of the culture, tied to spirituality and human emotion. Birds are a central theme in my work and, in my three-month residency, I participated in a collaborative outdoor project along this theme and also gave public workshops and artist talks at the Yingge Cramics Museum in New Taipai City.
