Andrea Scholze: I don’t belong, 2015-2019

The ape-beings have had their own evolution in her works, to something that perhaps evolved in a different direction.

Working expressively and channeling emotions in sculptures is a large part of Scholze’s expression, she continues this in these strange and sometimes lonely, or longing beings.

They range from small scale in a series of sculptures “Jeg hører ikke til” (I don´t belong), to larger sculptures like “A Bleak Future Vision” (2015). She also recently started to experiment with these beings in other materials in an even larger scale, and will be working with them along with botanical ceramic objects for her upcoming solo show at Trøndelag Centre for Contemporary Art (TSSK) in Trondheim, Norway in 2021.
