Nick Vest

Nick Vest (b. 1990, Pennsylvania) Is a Jingdezhen based sculptor with a studio practice combining material expertise, semi-philosophical meandering, and a relationship with decision making that leads to an ever-changing, multilayered stream of sometimes unrelated propositions in object form. Within the work a clear reverence for sculptural form is often held in check with an almost astringent honesty and skepticism that is allowed presence in varying degrees.

Vest is a graduate of the NYSCC at Alfred University and Kansas State University and co-founded, along with his wife ceramic artist Zhou YuYe, the MenLo Studio and Gallery, which provides residency opportunities to international ceramic artists and exhibition opportunity to emerging Chinese artists across media.
