Applications are open for CERCO – XIX International Prize for Contemporary Ceramics

The CERCO International Prize has supported and promoted contemporary ceramic art since 2001. The competition is one of the longest-running ceramic awards, showcasing the evolution and trends in contemporary ceramics through its international catalogs and exhibitions.

The competition is open to all contemporary artists from around the world of any age, emerging or established, individuals or members of collectives, without thematic restrictions, who use ceramics as an artistic medium.

The CERCO committee will select 30 pieces to be exhibited at the Aragón Crafts Center in Zaragoza (Spain) between September and November 2025, where a jury composed of prominent figures from the art world will evaluate the submitted works.

Applications are open until June 22, 2025. Registration and the rules for the competition are available through the website.

The prizes are as follows:
• CERCO Award for all ceramists, international in scope: endowed with 6,000 euros
• Gres Aragón-Faveker Award for national ceramists, worth 2,000 euros
• 2 runners-up without endowment.

The winning work of the CERCO Prize will be incorporated into the permanent collection of the Association of Craftsmen of Aragon, where it will be exhibited alongside the award-winning pieces from previous editions since the competition’s inception in 2001. This award is maintained thanks to the support of the Government of Aragon.

On the other hand, the work awarded by Gres Aragón-Faveker, the sponsoring company, will become part of its own collection.
