Nitsa Meletopoulos: Grotto-Modo, 2022

Grotto-Modo vol #1, 2022

Solo show by Nitsa Meletopoulos at Shebam Art Gallery, Leipzig, Germany, January-February 2022

The first solo of Nitsa Meletopoulos looks like a contemporary cabinet of wonders and a chimeric landscape of objects and surprising creatures. Full of weird plants and transformed vessels where real and fake communicates. In this show you’ll find a large range of the different series that the artist is working on. From rococo and grotesque vases, to mineral landscapes sculptures, surrealistic gloopy cups and gothic chandeliers, porcelain sextoys, apples and real sausages. The ensemble looks like the garden of delights in an alcôve with 2 wall chandeliers and a big sausage pattern plate on the wall setting the stage.

Grotto-Modo vol# 2, 2022

The installation was part of the exhibition Infortune Cookies in the art center CRAC19 in Montbéliard, France, May-August 2022

This installation is a version of Grotto-Modo, the first solo show of the artist. The installation is like a temple/garden. It looks like a contemporary cabinet of wonders and a chimeric landscape of objects and surprising creatures. Full of weird plants and transformed vessels where real and fake communicates. In this show you’ll find a large range of the different series that the artist is working on. From rococo and grotesque vases, to mineral landscapes sculptures, surrealistic gloopy cups and gothic chandeliers, lemons and cucumbers. The ensemble looks like the garden of delights in a large scale pink staircase.
