In wanting to challenge the traditional notions of ceramic sculpture, I set off to counter this connotation which often consists of a single entity placed on a pedestal, yielding a fixed expression. Although immensely subjective and individual, I am focused on the experience obtained upon encountering these large ceramic forms. How does the human body react to the presence of mass, volume, structure and density; or in some cases, the juxtaposition or absence of these qualities?
